Hailey transferred to St. Louis the King School at the Cathedral in the 4th grade, after Central Catholic closed. Fondest Memory of SLK: “I really have a lot of good memories. I really like it when the Optimists Club comes to the school to pass out awards to students in the 8th grade class, telling them ‘You are part of the school from now on.’ I also liked the penny carnival. We set it up in the gym, and there were games, activities, and dancing.”
Looking to the Future: “I am really looking forward to 8th grade and being a good leader, especially to students in the younger grades (K-3). I am also really excited to do a lot of activities for the school, like donate.”
Prospective High Schools: “My mom and I are excited about Cardinal Ritter. It is a good school, and it is really close to SLK so I can come back and volunteer.”

Career Aspirations: “I always dreamed to be a successful business woman or an actress. I just want to be successful.”
What does successful mean to you? “I wouldn’t say being on top, but it kind of is like that. Success is thinking for yourself, and showing what you can do to prove yourself.”
What advice would you give to future/prospective students? “Don’t be ashamed to be different. You are smart. My teachers taught me I am smart, different, and important to this school.”
We are excited to recognize Ramiro R. for our ACCESS Academies Student Spotlight program!

We are excited to recognize Jerriah W. for our ACCESS Academies Student Spotlight program!
Grade: 7th (arrived to the school in January!)
Current Teacher: Mr. Cherry
Favorite Subject: Science.
Science has been my favorite subject since the 4th grade because not only do you learn about your body – you learn deep inside your body (genes and traits). Science teaches you phases and the difference between meiosis and mitosis. I am really looking forward to the science fair. In 6th grade my friend and I earned 2nd place for our science project on crystals. It was hard because it took two days. The crystals were forming but were forming incorrectly. They were to form around the rock, but they formed on top of the rock. It took us 5 tries to get it to work. This year my science experiment was going to be a rainbow rose- how fast water gets into the rose. However, it was too easy and I decided to do an experiment where I create Oobleck.
Current Enrichment Programs: Character Education, STEM, StuCo, and Chess Club
Favorite Enrichment Program: STEM
I like the technology. Right now we are programming games. We are trying to make our own Frogger game.
Prospective High Schools: Ursuline, Notre Dame, or St. Joseph Academy
These schools have nice science classes and art programs.
Future Career Aspirations: First, I want to study veterinary medicine, but am also considering engineering – specifically coding. I want to create a device to people to use. I would also like to study animation because I like to draw.
Prospective Colleges: I am not sure. Maybe ITT Tech, but I am not positive.
